Our Pitch

 Our first pitch was about two female black super heroes.  our second pitch was about a black female mechanic.  We were interested in the first pitch because stereotypically most super heroes are men.  We wanted to make a statement that women are strong and just as equal as men are.  We also wanted to show equality in film.  There aren’t many black super hero representatives and we break that cycle.  Our second pitch is based more on real world problems.  We wanted to film this one because this pitch is representing a black women who is not only a person o color but also a mechanic.  We believed that this pitch would be  more relatable to real world problems that mostly black females face in society such as discrimination upon them just because of their gender and race.  It represents equality in color, and women empowerment.  This pitch has so much more of a deeper message that could be put into film .  We felt that this pitch would be more entertaining to film as well.  The fact that

Introducing Janiya

 Hi, I’m Janiya McCoy I still attend fort Lauderdale high school.  I have learned plenty new things from this class and the previous projects.  It was hard taking in all the vocabulary and things I needed to know for the final project but I think I’m prepared to  be thrown into the lions den.  It is all so overwhelming for me but I kind of enjoy the thrill of actually having to produce a clip of a movie all while I am still a teenager.  My favorite part about the projects are always going to be the filming and editing it just brings me so much joy seeing the whole project come together by the hands of me.  This class has taught me so much and I’m excited to use all of that in this final project to really see how far I have progressed from the thirty second commercial.  Tiana is my favorite Disney princess ever, that is also my favorite movie of all time. Recently I received my drivers license and I love the feeling of being able to drive on my own.  I have a severe allergy to pineapple

Introducing the group

   Faith and Riana are going to be group partners for this project. When the class first begun it was just me Faith and Jaylen.  Once Jaylen left the class we actually spoke to other people, that being the introduction of Riana. Riana has talked to us a little before Jaylen switched out and as soon as she did she remembered our names.  It was really nice talking to Riana she is the sweetest and gave my dried up apple slices which I absolutely love. Me and Faith have been friends since freshman year, we use to ride the same bus so we would just chat with each other.  After we started talking to Riana it was very entertaining, we enjoy her company very much.  At first me and Faith were just going to be a duo for the projects because we know how it is to work together already but then we decided since we have this new friend we should do it with her.  Usually me and Faith would find entertainment after we finish our homework and everything trying to pass up time.  Ariana came up without t

Editing with cheer

 Today I went over the clips we all took together and I picked out the ones that were best fitted and fit the time stamp.  I also noticed in the videos one of the angles were off so I suggested for us to go re film the clip.  I worked from behind the camera this time, I filmed from three different angles this time.  It didn’t take me much time to film and get back to the class to work on editing.  I was missing one person from my group they weren’t here today so we had to work without them. I got through editing the beginning  part of the clips we had. I decide to figure out what song could go over our commercial and match the vibe while still be relevant to the topic of choice. Because we Were missing a member it was kind of hard to make decisions on the auditing without her being here.  This is especially because she is the main one who was behind the editing and helping us with the camera angles and the specific shots that we need for the whole commercial as a whole.  I edited some

Filming with the Christmas spirit

 Today I captured me accessorizing a Christmas tree with the supplies I purchased at Bed Bath & Beyond. When I arrived home I organized all ornaments that I bought and lit a Christmas candle. I shot the flames blazing from the candle at a tilt angle. Then I placed string lights onto the tree and filmed myself twisting the light cords together. I then fluffed the tree to make it look more full and started grabbing the ornaments from there boxes. I recorded myself grabbing them from there boxes so that my audience could view the patterns along the ball. Afterwards, I shot the ball at a close up to encapsulate even more of the amazing details on the ornament. Next, I filmed myself placing the ornaments onto the tree with the string lights on. Later, I wrapped the garland around my stairwell and began placing the stocking on it. I videoed the process of putting the stocking on and the result of it. Filming with festivities

  Today, December 6, my group began filming our music video. We forgot one of our props and were therefore only able to shoot half the music video. The other actress also could not film their scenes, even the ones that didn't require the specific prop. This is because if they filmed some scenes one day and the rest another day, the costumes would be different. We also could not film our opening scene as it requires both actresses'. I filmed everything and made sure to try and hold the camera as steady as I possibly could. Faith couldn't be in the shots today so she was a big help behind scenes. We were able to get a lot done because the media center was empty and we had no distractions. The first scene I directed was Janiya walking through the front doors into the media center. There was then a series of about 4 clips from her walking through the door to sitting at the desk. Each clip will have a jump cut transition between them. While the music video is meant to alternate
